About Me

Hi, I’m Amanda

I have been fascinated with wild plants for as long as I can remember. My happiest childhood memories consist of picking wildflowers on walks, or creating infusions with mint and other herbs growing wildly in my grandparents’ garden in the Italian Alps—using a bucket and spade and pretending I was a local witch doctor.

What drew me in back then were the sensory joys of wild plants: their beauty, scent, and texture. Later, I became captivated by the simple fact that they grow of their own accord—without our permission or design. That quiet autonomy spoke to something deep in me. I came to understand that foraging and plant relationships were not just practical survival tools but part of how we once belonged to the world.

In modern life, many of us have lost that connection. We no longer recognise the plants at our feet—let alone know their names, uses, or histories. Yet I believe these relationships matter more than ever. They offer nourishment not only for the body, but for the soul. In reconnecting with them, we begin to mend something older too—healing the disconnection passed down through generations.

Alongside my plant work, I’ve completed a Foundation Certificate in Counselling Skills, and I’m deeply interested in the psychological and spiritual dimensions of our relationship with the land. For me, connecting with wild plants is not about escapism—it’s about re-rooting ourselves in something real. Something enduring. It’s about remembering that we are part of a living, interconnected world.

I hope this space invites you to slow down and reconnect—whether through foraging, folklore, seasonal rituals, or simply noticing what’s growing at the edge of the pavement. Even that small shift can be quietly transformative.
